The Lars Larsen Arnegårdeie and Kari Nubsdatter Grimsgårdeie's family.

Lars Larsen Arnegårdeie was born 28th september 1836 in Ellingbråten.
The place was a "husmannsplass" under the big farm Arnegård. He married 30th april 1863 in Nes kirke with Kari Nubsdatter Grimsgårdeie. Kari was born 5th august 1839.

Lars Larsen Ellingbråten was born as first son 29th mai 1859.
Baptised in Nes kirke 29th of may same year. Confirmated 7th june 1876. Under the Censius 1865 he stayed in Ellingbråten. We do not know much more about Lars. He then in 1878 went out from Nes. Emigration to Christiania on May 13th 1878. These is to be read from the Church book for Nes this year.
A name Lars Larsen has been found in the emigration protecol in Oslo (Christiania) in the year 1879 fitting the age and name but this we are not sure about. His mother said befor she died in 1925 - that he was dead and left behind him children. But the address was unknown for the family.
An older brother Thorvald went over to America in 1902 and Thorvald's son say in a letter that it is probably true that Thorvald went to his brother Lars on the way to Minnesota!! This we would to know more about. We belive this is Lars.
After a lot of study I do not know more today.

Barbo Larsdatter Ellingbråten was born 10 june 1862 in Ellingbråten.
First marriage was to Knut Olsen Velta.Together they had 4 children. Knut owned the farm Velta close to the Østenfor hotel one the east side of Nesbyen. The father of Knut was registrated as owner of the farm since 1852 under Bæken the main farm.
She married Ivar Ivarsen Kollhus. These two is the start of the big family Kollhus in Rukkedalen. They got the following 6 children:
Knut (b.1897) married to Marie I. Holm, Margit (b.1898), Laura (b.19th November 1900), Barbo (b. 30 May 1903), Lars (b. 24th July 1904) and Kristian (b. 24th April 1908.)

Only Knut and Marie got a total of 7 children - here is Olav the owner of the farm Kollhus today.
 

Knud Larsen Ellingbråten was born 26th. of May 1866 in Ellingbråten and baptize 1st July 1866 same year.
Godfather to Knud was: Thomas Thommasen, Kari Eriksdatter Thoengen, Halvor Knudsen Braaten, Christen Larsen, Margit Larsdatter Bakken.
About Knud we know very little. Together with Lars we are searching for these two family members. Knud is confirmated in Nes Kirke May 1881. This is the only written from the churh book. After this there is no information we know about. Only info is that my grandfather said his 4 brothers went to America.

Thora Larsdatter Dokken was born 19th February 1874.
Baptize in Nes Kirke 15th March 1874. Godfather was: Ole Nilsen, Randvei Larsdatter, Sigri Olsdatter Thodok, Kari Syversdatter Spankop and Ole Ellingbråten.
This dato say also that her mother and father was 38 and 37 years old and married in 1864.
In this time the family was on the move to a small place down from the hill they had the farm. From Ellingbråten to the place Dokken was only a few hundred meter. But this place was haveing better land. In Censius for 1900 is Thora still liveing in home and make her money on sewing.
 

Hans Larsen Dokken was born in Dokken 16th April 1877.
Baptize in Nes Kirke 21st May 1877. Godfather was: Thor Helgesen Brattested, Knud Ellefsen, Ellef Knudsen, Birgit Jonsdatter and Sunnøf  Nilsedatter Bottofsletten.
The father and mother is now 48 and 50 years accordig to the Churh book. They married in 1862 and are married for 15 years.
Hans and Birgit Levorsdatter Hytta got 2 sonsthat are baptized in Nes Kirke. They lived close to the Østenfor hotel where Mossa Solheim is liveing today. Hans left for America and Birgit and the two sons came after. The Family live today in North Dakota around Minot. The children was married with members of other families that have their roots here in Hallingdal. Hagen from Ål and Bråthen here in Nes.

Thorvald Larsen Dokken was born 23rd April 1881 in Dokken.
Baptize in Nes Kirke 15th of May 1881. Godfather was: Nils Nilsen Kastet, Kristi Olsdatter Dokken, Knud Olsen Vollen, Ellef Knudsen Bottolfsletten and Barbo Knudsdatter Østløkken.
Censius 1900 tell that Thorvald was hired as farmworker in Tollefsgård. But this was obviously no future for Thorvald. In 1902 he decided to go to America too - after his brothers.

Carl his son writes:
"After finishing the Millitary he went in 1902 to America. He had a brother in Wisconsin and he went there first. Later he came to Hatton, North Dakota. He worked around on different farms in different jobs. He settled after some time in Williston, claimed land. After a while he sold it and went back to Hatton. Now he worked for the railroad and after a while he married Ingeborg Nilsdatter Hegge on October 14th 1909. She was twin and her twin brother was named Fredrik. They was born 23rd april 1884. Her mother died when she was born and they was raised by the grandmother.
I her younger days she needed to go to school and get confirmanted. She worked in a few factories in Drammen before she went to America. She always told the story how sick she was on the boat. She worked then in different places around Hatton, ND - one of them was in Erik (Erick) Hegge and his family.
The 14th of October 1909 she married Thorvald Dokken. And they decided to settle down in Canada - where it was a lot of land to claim."

Nicolai Larsen Dokken was as the last child born 21st of November 1883. Baptize in Nes Kirke 1 st January 1884. Godfather was:
Helge Helgesen Stupa, Anne Johnsdatter Stupa, Lars Helgesen Brattested, Ellef Knudsen Bottolfsletten, Ambjør Knudsdatter Bottolfsletten.
In Cenius of 1900 it is told he was farmworker in Majormoen. He lived in Dokken the home of the family. He had always good humor and a glimp in the eye.
He got married with Anne Bergo. She was from the same farm as Thor grew up - Maribråten. They got two children. Ole and Kari. In the last birth Anne died.
When this happened - Nicolai needed some help to raise the children. He got Marie Fluto in the house for the help with the children. And in 1919 he married for the second time Marie. Grandmother was from the big family Fluto in Liodden. They raised 10 children where my mother Nora was one of them.
